Shaun Marsden

Shaun is an investor and entrepreneur, passionate about clean technology and its impact. As a Non-Executive Director, he is supporting Power Transition to develop and scale the business through an ever-expanding pipeline of commercial opportunities and strategic partnerships.

Shaun is also one of the founding Directors of CATAX  - the UK’s largest independent statutory tax advisory practice. Having uncovered and indemnified unused Capital Allowances on over £4bln of UK commercial real estate to date, Shaun is one of the UK’s leading specialists in exercising the CAA 2001 Capital Allowances Act for UK and overseas commercial property investors. CATAX also service over 14,500 clients delivering advice on R&D Tax Relief Patent Box, RoCL and innovation funding and has attracted the attention of US/Global tax compliance giant - Ryan Tax Services, resulting in their recent acquisition in February 2022. 

In his personal life, Shaun has been busy growing his family of four boys into a five aside football team (with him in goal). He occasionally finds the opportunity to steal some time for himself to maintain his love of flying light aircraft and as a keen pianist, tinkle on the ivories!
